I am sure you will forgive me for this Question. But allow me to say how I would answer this Question. I think we all have no doubt, that with Internet, we have parallel to our real World a Virtual Word. Ok? So let us talk about this matter a little bit more. If someone asks you where are you from and where are you based and what are you doing now?, if you have a Visit card, your Visit card could be an answer. Your Name, your Address and your Work. That is in Real World. How is that in Virtual World? Imagine you have a company and you deliver fresh Lobster. You are based in xxxx and you are able to deliver your fresh Lobster to your potential Customer. The Question is how can potential customer they are looking for Lobster know that you exist? How can they send you a request? Do not forget; we are talking about Virtual World. So and now the Answer to the Question what is a Domain? A domain is first of all a virtual visit card in Virtual World. But it is only a Part of the Answer. Your Customer knows there is for example a domain as freshlobster.ext. but she/he can not find it. It is only a Domain name. If you build a Website for this Domain, where you write how you deliver Lobster, how much are the price and how can your customer order; then you have not only a virtual visit card in virtual World, you also have a real visit card in virtual World.
